Given that the population on the isle of Yell in Shetland is about 900 people, you may be wondering where I am staying while working with GlobalYell. It is a jewel of a croft on the isle of Yell – Quam B&B. Owners Anne and Robert are delightful, the B&B is kept in great cleanliness and order, and there is flexibility in schedule to use of their kitchen and laundry facilities. Being a croft, they have their own sheep, chickens, cats, dogs and – YES! – Shetland ponies (which they breed). The ponies can be quite friendly when you have an apple to offer!
Quam B&B’s location is also convenient for getting around to see the other islands. Best of all, it is only a ten minute drive to GlobalYell!
